about

“Gun Metal Horses is about longing for the past, fearing for the future and reflecting on the present. I wrote the lyrics when I was visiting my best friend in Cyprus, where I grew up. We spent our days riding horses around the fields like we were kids again - and in those precious moments I didn’t have a care in the world. I guess sometimes you just need to take a break and breathe before moving forward with life.”

lyrics

GUN METAL HORSES

I’m looking at a view
That I looked at with you
It doesn’t mean anything
Doesn’t mean anything

And it doesn’t mean anything
And I don’t mean anything

My gun metal horses
Our drugs and our losses
And I’m alone with my mornings
In blue
And I’m alone with my mornings
I’m so alone when I’m with you

Tell me I’m your girl
Every single day
You know I’ll stay
You know I’ll stay

It only hurts for a minute
Only when you’re right in it

My gun metal horses
Our drugs and our losses
And I’m alone with my mornings
In blue
And I’m alone with my mornings
I’m so alone when I’m with you

A thousand cities between us
A hundred skies and stardust
And we don’t change
No we don’t change
And I’m so faded I can’t see
But that’s how they like me baby

My gun metal horses
Our drugs and our losses
And I’m alone with my mornings
In blue
And I’m alone with my mornings
I’m so alone when I’m with you

about

Lux Lyall London, UK

In Lux Lyall’s dark and decadent world, little is as it appears. Theatrical songs steeped in sumptuous strings owe a debt to old-school Hollywood, but have their roots in Camden’s gritty rock haunts. Lyrics littered with nods to film noir spring from modern-day issues including mental health. Even the femme fatales come with a twist – they always win the day.
