In Lux Lyall’s dark and decadent world, little is as it appears. Theatrical songs steeped in sumptuous strings owe a debt to old-school Hollywood, but have their roots in Camden’s gritty rock haunts. Lyrics littered with nods to film noir spring from modern-day issues including mental health. Even the femme fatales come with a twist – they always win the day.
